Tuesday, February 22nd, 2011Band of Brothers: One day trip to Malacca
Saturday, August 14th, 2010John and I decided to take a trip to Malacca: Historical City of Malaysia. Journey takes 2 hours drive from KL to Malacca along the PLUS highway. Fortunately for us the trip was smooth and not jam at all. Our first stop is the Crocodile Farm. Here are some close up photo shoot and the two of us over at mini-Malaysia monuments.
There were lots of crocodiles. Different kinds, most of them aren’t active. They are mostly sleeping. At one of the larger cage, there were 2 workers cleaning the cage while a bunch of crocodile were resting nearby. Wow! Talking about work hazard! Here are 2 more photos of them…
After our visit, we were about to make a ‘U’ turn to head to town when we saw a big banner next to the crocodile farm. The banner was promoting buggy ride at the Botanical Garden. So, we head straight there to see what buggy ride is all about. Its actually a round the botanical garden route for people to rent some battery operated mobile buggy and golf cart. Here is a picture of both of us having fun riding these buggy.
The ride according to the attendant is 45 minutes for RM10.00 but actually we got cheeky and since both of us were a little overweight, we manage to finish the route in 1 hour and 15 minutes. Lucky the attendant didn’t charge us for the extra minutes. Well, it was actually because my friend’s batter died half way and got stuck! Hahaha..
After finish our buggy ride, we head to town and our stomachs starts to growl. Oops! Time for lunch. So, we went to try for Malacca’s famous chicken rice ball. We initially wanted to eat at the Original and best chicken rice ball but the queue was so long! We settled for one of the chicken rice ball restaurant instead, but definitely not the tourist restaurant that was wee bit more expensive. The chicken meat where we ate is ok only. Will definitely try the original one the next time I visit, but not when I’m so very hungry.
Well, the rest… I’ll let the photos tell you the story. Most of which we visited the museums. There’s actually around 6 or more museums in total but we only manage to visit some of them.
These are only a few photos. We took a lot of photos even with silly actions! Hahaha… After all the walking and talking and joking and photo shooting, we head back to jonker walk and walk along the road which has lots of small stalls open. We stop by the famous Pub/Bar & Restaurant at the crossroads of the jonker walk – Explorer. We chill-out there for some R&R and beer.
