Papa Johns @ IOI Shopping Mall, Puchong

Monday, August 17th, 2009

Lots of new shops are opening at the new wing of IOI Shopping Mall in Puchong. More ample car parks available at the underground parking, as well as the upper rooftop parking.

Lunch time is near and we opt to taste something new from the new wing area. Lots of variety, but the regular well-known are TGIF, Sakae Sushi(now will have a heat competition with sushi king at the old wing), Nandos (competition with Kenny Rogers’ roasters), etc.

Seeing a new outlet open. Its called Papa Johns’ Pizza. Thought of giving it a taste and review. Ordered the value meal package for 2. Consist of 2 beverage (coca-cola) glasses, 6 pieces of Bread sticks and a 9′ (inch) original pizza. We chose the Fisherman’s cove pizza. Since we have been eating chicken for 3 days in a row.. thought trying out the seafood for a change. We added a side order of Cheese sticks.

The bread sticks, are served with a tomato paste. And they also give a small plate of melted butter. It goes well with the pizza.

The cheese sticks are actually a small pizza filled with melted cheese topping.

The pizza comes with 2 pickled pepper chili. I think its sort of an appetizer.

Overall, a good pizza to eat. My next try would be to taste the thin crust pizza.

New York, New York Deli @ 1Utama Shopping Complex

1Utama Shopping Complex Giant Supermarket is now taken over by Cold Storage Supermarket. And its area has widen to accommodate more shops and restaurants. One restaurant that caught my eye is right in front of Cold Storage Supermarket. Its a Singaporean Company franchise.

The food is delicious with western cuisine and drinks are unique. I tried the root beer float. Its refreshing only with a taste difference. I’ve discovered (now only discovered) that the unique special taste that A&W root beer float has with this here root beer float is actually the vanilla ice-cream! So, which is better? Definitely A&W’s.

But I must compliment that when you are led to be seated, you don’t have to wait for the waiter/waitress to bring you the menu. Its laid on the table and most of the recommended food/dishes are clearly highlighted.

I had this pizza which is for diet control. Being a cheese lover, its surprising that the cheese on this chicken Hawaii pizza is not cheesy at all!

The penne pasta.. well, what can I say.. I forgot to take the “before eaten” shot and only after “almost finish eaten” shot instead. Delicious! If only the prawns are fully peeled off.. that’s a mouthful.. Yummy!

I’d recommend this to anyone that loves pizza and pasta. And its affordable as well.

Pasta! Pasta! Pasta! Where to go for good pasta food? Where else?! At Pasta-Mania Restaurant.

Start off with chicken soup and yummy garlic bread. The garlic bread is soft and warm to perfection. Tasty!

Tried 2 pasta noodles. Spaghetti Carbonara [fettucine style] (top) and Spaghetti Spicy Seafood [penne style] (bottom). Both are chef recommendation. If you like lots and lots of cheese, carbonara is the dish for you.
